El Patron Mexican Grill - Catonsville

This restaurant is a hidden gem. It has a small storefront with a few tables out front. The Beef Tacos Barilla were incredible and had a generous portion size. The braised beef cubes were moist and flavorful, served in a taco with a dipping sauce made from the braising liquid. They typically come with cilantro and raw onions, which added to the deliciousness. It was messy to eat, but well worth it. The service was excellent, and the overall dining experience was great for dinner. The price per person is between $10-20. I would give the food and service a rating of 5, but the atmosphere only a 2.

If you do only one thing, make sure to order the chips and queso. I had a full meal that I saved for lunch because I got so full from the queso. I also made the mistake of sharing the queso. Don't share your queso. The staff is always friendly and I enjoy having such a wonderful little spot in town. I hope El Patron keeps thriving. I would give this restaurant 5 stars if the service was better. The food is excellent, especially the tacos. I had the pastor tacos and my friend had the shrimp tacos, both were delicious. The menu offers a variety of options, making it difficult to choose if you love Mexican food. Unfortunately, the service was lacking as they forgot to bring us chips and salsa until we asked for it, and there was only one person working at the cashier which led to longer than usual wait times. The restaurant is small but clean, with both tables and booths making it suitable for individuals, friends, or families. They offer Mexican sodas like Jarritos and fresh horchata. Prices are reasonable, and they have classic Mexican desserts like flan and tres leches cake. Parking is a bit tricky as you need to park behind the building. Overall, the food and atmosphere are great, but the service could use some improvement. I recommend trying the pastor, al pastor, steak tacos, and tres leches cake. Price range is $10-20 per person for lunch.

This is the best authentic Mexican restaurant close to home every thing is always fresh and hot and so dern good you won’t be disappointed. I love the chicken taco and rice ! Trying the steak taco today . This is my new favorite spot . Service: Take out Meal type: Other Price per person: $10–20
