In Piazza Europa Catania

For the umpteenth time I had breakfast with a friend in this famous Catalan coffee where everything is great: brioche, granita, cappuccino, graffen, ice cream... good!

One of our favorite places for more than 30 years... since they were smaller but always excellent.... our post lunch, with a spectacular lemon granita.... and with a variety of endless proposals... all exquisite.... the best....

After a very long walk through the neighbourhood where I dived here to escape the hot sun on the midday for a fast cappuccino, it was in fact very strong Italian coffee and a very welcome break!

Not great! We found the meal only okay, a bit bland and Luke warm. But maybe that's the way things are served here?!? The service wasn't great. Ordered a water, didn't get it! Only one waiter spoke English and he could not be considered very...friendly. But we are getting accustomed to what we think is the Italian way- fairly brisk and aloof and not overly concerned with the customer experience??!! Maybe we have not been going to the right eateries? We didn't have a dessert but some did look good.

Kudos to this cafeteria its the only place we found in Catania that offers toast !!! Finally !!! Hot chocolate was divine the girl serving us was really nice and will definitely go back .
