L&l Hawaiian Bbq - Castro Valley

I have been visiting this restaurant for years and the food has always been amazing. However, today the food was very bland and lacked flavor. The Mac salad tasted old so I had to throw it away. I usually spend over $60 here and have never regretted it until today.

The seafood platter was terrible. There was too much breading on the fish, scallops, and shrimp and they did not taste fresh. I am experiencing stomach and bowel issues today.

The positives of this Castro Valley branch include speedy service, reasonably priced items, generous portion sizes, bold and delicious flavors (especially the BBQ beef according to my husband), and a relatively quiet atmosphere. Negatives include my garlic shrimp being too salty for my liking, staff could be friendlier, and the decor/lighting could use an update to create a more welcoming environment for guests to linger, hang out, and have conversations. Overall, there is room for improvement at this location.

Good food, 15 min wait tho so pre order before they go.

Consistent! actually they have good hamburger, this place is solid and good to have around.
