The best spot in Castlemaine for coffee, cakes, and straightforward, authentic Italian café fare. It's popular, often busy, and cozy, with fantastic food! Luca is a true cultural gem!

We stopped by for a coffee during our day trip, and it was fantastic! The coffee was delicious, and the staff were wonderful as well. It was the perfect pit stop we needed. Thank you all for the great coffee!

We stopped by for a quick coffee before visiting a gallery, and we were impressed by the excellent quality of the coffee. The inviting atmosphere inspired us to return for lunch later in the day. From their small kitchen, Lucca and Daniel serve up a wonderful array of dishes, including breakfasts, piadinas, bruschetta, soups, assorted plates, and a daily pasta special. Everything we tried was fantastic, complemented by the friendly service. The selection of cakes also looked tempting, but we were too full to indulge. In the evenings, they expand their menu to include pizzas.

Couldn't fault. Came for coffee and some cakes for afternoon tea. The weather was horrible but the staff were extremely accommodating and waited to seat is inside out of the elements. They were very busy however I never felt like the waitress forgot us and she was very attentive. The coffee was delicious and creamy (soy and dairy) and cakes were delicious.

Oh my, what a wee gem this place is?! A relatively short menu had me initially thinking, 'oh I 'd have liked ... ' but clearly the focus on quality rather than quantity was worth it. Everything on the platter was great. The pizza (our version of vego with ham and anchovies, sans rocket) was frankly the best pizza I 've had in longer than I can remember. We were one of 3 pairs of customers in the courtyard and it turned out that a bit of peace, not being spoilt for choice and a good bottle of wine (Connor Park) was exactly what we needed.
