Z'abbracci Pizza, Pasta Tap House

I took my extended family of six to this restaurant on the 4th of July after a long, tiring day in the mountains. We arrived feeling wet, sweaty, and exhausted, but the staff was incredibly kind and accommodating, treating us with the same care as their more polished and well-groomed customers. The food was delightful and delicious, and considering the quality and portion sizes, it was fairly priced. I even had a lovely lunch box for the following day! Our waitress was not only sweet but also gorgeous, making us feel like we were the only customers in the place. The restaurant is smaller, which I appreciated—it had a cozy, warm atmosphere that allowed our server to provide attentive service without feeling rushed. Plus, with fewer patrons, the kitchen could focus on sending out freshly made dishes, each one just as tasty as the last. My kids are already planning our next visit!

I walked in with high expectations, as I always like to give restaurants a second chance after my initial impressions. Unfortunately, my chicken fettuccine alfredo was disappointing and bland. The sauce was mostly watery and lacked flavor, while the chicken was dry and tasted a week old. The lemon chicken didn’t have any lemon flavor, and there were unexpected chili peppers in the pasta, which weren’t mentioned on the menu. Overall, I found it to be very overpriced for food that lacked taste.

I want to start by saying that our server Kaleb was fantastic. He had an excellent personality and was very attentive. Next, the food was incredible. The appetizer was both beautiful and delicious, and the calzones were enormous and freshly made. We ended our meal with a skillet cookie, which was just what we expected and desired. I highly recommend this place to anyone searching for pizza in Castle Rock!
