Linda , Juliani treated us so well, perfect Service. Meeting the pasta maker Daniella was an extra special treat. Go to this restaurant, highly recommended!
We had been looking to have Florentine steak locally instead of travelling into Florence, and reviews suggested this was the place. We were slightly thrown by the ordering system for steak, but this was our error. There is a minimum size for a florentine steak to share between two, and this SHOULD be about 1.2kg (mininum , or you are going to get a too thin steak. The steak surface area is a set size, therefore the only other variable is the thickness of the steak, which should be 3 fingers thick at least to reach the 3 finger minima. Anyway, steak in Italy is served rare, don 't bother with anything else, and if you don 't like rare steak, perhaps you should not eat it in Italy. I say this for my UK compatriots who like well done (hideous!!! . Anyway, to cut a long story short, we had the steak with a nice red and just a few side dishes of vegetables and porcini mushrooms and this was more than enough for the two of us. Dessert was out of the question after this. Steak was succulent and delicious, one of the best I have eaten, as a South African who knows good steak. This was on a par with some of the best steaks had in South Africa and Australia. Alas, I do not mention the UK here as this has been a troublesome and dissappointing relationship generally, something I have mostly given up on LOL. All round, I would recommend Scuola for their Florentine steak, and the pastas that other diners were having looked equally delicious. We may even have time and space for another review in the next few days, we will see.....
What can you say, a small interesting looking restaurant was as good as it got. We chose the menu of the day and waited with anticipation. The antipasta was literally a tin of spanish anchovies to open yourself. The pasta a gnocchi in a bright yellow tasteless source. In between the courses a group entered with 2 large dogs and were seated next to us when the place was empty. AVOID.
La qualità del primo piatto fatto a mano è molto alta, con un gusto autentico. Anche la carne è buona, abbiamo ordinato un fiorentino al sangue e la carne era ottima! I prezzi sono giusti, altamente raccomandato, abbiamo mangiato meglio di altri ristoranti nelle vicinanze!
Grande fiorentino di Chianina! Vasta selezione di vini, piccoli ma caratteristici locali del centro storico consigliati per una cena eccellente in compagnia.
