I have taken advantage of the excellent cuisine of the restaurant several times as guest of the Urthaler and the judgement can only be positive. Excellent dishes from the buffet of appetizers (superb the breast of smoked duck), passing through the opening soups, to the first, to the second end with the desserts. Also very wide the choice of wines, with the right representation of Trentino and South Tyrolean wines. To finish a very courteous staff, prepared and friendly. 10 and praise!
In the well-maintained rooms we would be greeted from the service to the most welcoming. The menu included six appetizers and as many main courses as well as two desserts. The dishes were partly unusual combined. So we had Vitello Tonnato with tuna tuna as well as a wild tart. Both were excellent. The main course was excellent sips with calf and black truffles as well as a variation of noodles with a Bolognese sauce. Unfortunately, for a dessert it was not enough for us anymore. The waiter had a wonderful local wine recommendation that was great. All in all an absolutely positive surprise to find something like this on the Seiser Alm. Practical tip: The restaurant is located in Hotel Urthaler, not far from the mountain station of the Seiseralmbahn.
Contrary to what might seem from the title the Local belongs to a 5 star hotel and the dehor is breathtaking. Overlook the Sciliar-Catinaccio Nature Park (Alpe di Siusi), in the background the Sciliar Massif. We order marinated tomatoes with Mozzarelline produced with local hay milk, basil and roasted pine nuts. At the same time an excellent Orata fillet with rosemary polenta and local mini vegetables. 10 and praise. To follow Ravioli with fresh spinach chopped in sight with hazelnut butter, Trentino's grana with aromatic herbs. With three glasses of excellent local gewürztraminer, local water coffee and barricaded grappa, 47 euros per head. Correct, suitable for proposal and location.
After a day of hiking dinner in this restaurant is fantastic. Delicate dishes, super friendly staff and high catering.
