Extremely rude and lacks common sense. The 84 year old person in our party could no order a lá carte while others had the all you can eat buffet. Sad but true. I would give a no star if it was possible.
My friend and I had lunch here recently and we were quite pleased with the meals ... crispy duck and chicken piripiri, both served with rice. At first, I was disappointed when I saw that the chicken was cut up in small pieces and was mixed with red sauce and rice. But it tasted so good that my disappointment was soon forgotten! And portions were more than enough. This place goes on my list when I crave for Chinese food.
Three of us had lunch here and all three of us enjoyed the meal. We all had something different and so were able to see other things that were available. The prawn spring rolls are divine! The restaurant is clean, the food arrives after an appropriate delay while it is cooked and the lady serving us was pleasant and cheerful and was able to speak to us in English which helps when eating out in a strange land. The beers were cold and the food was hot.
When there 's only two Chinese restaurants in a city the size of Castelo Branco (50,000+ , it 's great that at least one of them is good. This one is! For Americans used to groaning board, all-you-can-eat buffets at their favorite Chinese restaurants, the Portuguese version is a definite variation on the theme: You can eat as much as you want. From as many different choices as the menu offers. And continue to request more. Each generous-sized portion is a dish cooked to order, rather than warmed over food and being stirred in an assortment of this, that, and the other thing. The food here is good. It 's served piping hot. And the wait staff doesn 't hesitate to smile at you! Earlier, we 'd eaten at the other all-you-can-eat Chinese restaurant in town here. After our third dish, we were made to feel unwelcome and that three small plates was enough for us, thank you. Here at Restaurante Pequim, we had wonderful Chinese and Vietnamese egg rolls, a thick and sumptuous soup, sizzling beef smothered in onions, pork sauteed with mushrooms, two different types of made-at-the-moment sushi, a small pitcher of red wine, and a beer. All for €22.50. Now, that 's a deal! Our waitress was eager to please, bringing out the food in the sequence we asked for it ... and encouraging us to keep trying new things from the menu. É um buffet, não? she grinned. We 'd eaten there before (but not the buffet and we 'll certainly be back to eat there again!
The 5 of us had the buffet which was very good and for a very good price. The service was also good, and we didn’t have to wait long. I totally recommend it!
