Ricci's Trattoria - Cary

We waited for an hour to be seated, and when we finally got to our table, we noticed that our waitress was quite busy and handling multiple tasks. The drinks and garlic knots arrived promptly, but we then waited two hours for our pizza. Our waitress, who was wonderful and very reassuring, kept us updated about the pizza. For about 10 minutes, she informed us that the pizza was in the oven but there was a delay due to an argument in the kitchen. An argument in the kitchen? Unfortunately, our food never came. In the end, our waitress suggested that we leave without our pizza and only the drinks and garlic knots. We spent a total of three hours from the time we arrived to when we left, and all we ended up with was some drinks and garlic knots. This experience was simply unacceptable.

Just last week, my brother-in-law took my two daughters there to eat. After waiting 30 minutes for a table, they were informed that there was no chicken or beef available, and the only option was shrimp. To top it off, my daughter’s pasta was very bland. When they mentioned this, again, no discount or compensation was offered. I’m sharing this review because I really want to see Ricci's improve. We genuinely like the owner and his daughter, and we've enjoyed this restaurant in the past. I'm not sure if it’s a staffing issue or a supply chain problem, but I really hope that moving forward, if there are issues with a customer’s experience, a small discount could make a significant difference!

This restaurant used to be fantastic, but it's really declining. I'm done with it. I ordered a pizza for takeout, and by the time I got home—just a two-minute drive with no bumps—it was already looking less than appealing. I suggest you try a different place. They clearly don't care about the quality.

I went to Ricci?s Trattoria (2022) at the beginning of August this year. Taylor was my server and she was very professional and so friendly! I spoke to the owner and boss of the restaurant, Ricci, after my meal. He was so on earth and is from New York. I was born in Long Island, so it was really great to talk to him. I ordered the Melanzana Rollatini (Eggplant Rollatini). My server, Taylor, recommended it when I asked her, especially if you like ricotta cheese? she felt that this was a good choice and boy was right!! It came with fresh garlic green beans and potatoes. The portions are a really good size. I loved the Melanzana Rollatini! It was so delicious. The garlic green beans and potatoes were also wonderful. I ordered a glass of Riesling wine. It was the Kung Fu Girl and it was excellent!! My friend was out of town, so I came by the night, but will definitely be back with him. Delicious Italian cuisine in Cary. We decided to try this restaurant for our daughter's 21st birthday dinner and wasn't disappointed. I'm from a true Italian family and thought their sauce was spot one. Our table had a variety of entrees and we were very satisfied with the quality, taste and portions. The owner even came out, asked how everything was and then quickly returned with a free dessert to go! We'll be back soon to try their pizza.
