The chopped pork was quite dry, lacking sauce and flavor. The collard greens and Brunswick stew tasted like they came from a can or frozen ingredients. The jalapeño cheddar sausage was decent, though. Their vinegar sauce was authentic to the eastern style—though it was hard to tell if there was a hint of ketchup mixed in. The hot sauce was better than average. They also offered a mustard sauce, but I didn't sample that.
My husband and I have been looking for southern barbeque similar to Sonny's in NC for years without traveling hours to get some. While visiting a doctor in Cary he found Danny's Barbecue and oh what a find! This is hands down the best barbecue surpassing Sonny's by far. The beef brisket is smokey, tender and absolutely delicious as well as the chicken and ribs. You will be pleasantly stuffed after your visit! Would recommend to anyone seeking authentic barbeque!!!
By far the best BBQ restaurant in the area. This place gives the best bang for the buck. I ordered the pulled pork and it came with two reasonably portioned sides plus texas toast. Potato salad is a must here!
I ordered the two meat plate pulled pork and catfish for lunch with blackberry cobbler, I paid extra for the catfish. the pulled pork was on the dry side, lacking in flavor and seasoning. the catfish was perfectly cook but no seasoning at all, side of collard greens not one fleck of red pepper flakes the lack of seasoning in collareds is just disappointing, the slaw was okay and so was the Bbq sauce without it that pulled pork was DOA. The blackberry cobbler was sweet enough but the biscuit was too thick no crumble of sugary goodness on top over all this meal was a huge disappointment for $30 bucks won't be returning. Cute little placed tucked away service was friendly.
The brisket was very dry, and the turkey tasted like the imitation turkey you find in a Lunchable. The Brunswick stew was decent, but I found the $25 price for a two-meat lunch plate to be too high. I probably won't be coming back. This isn't a great place for barbecue.
