John Boy's Homecooking Buffet

I have to say five stars because it is one of the only buffets open however this locations food quality is not as good as his mother and father's store in Marietta. There's just no seasoning on the food and I don't know how you mess up fried Chicken!

Friendly staff, for sure. The food is hit or miss, it's either excellent or gross. For example, the friend chicken is delicious about 60% of the time, but 40% of the time it's dry as a bone. I love the salad bar but it's inconsistent with what it has. The crumbled eggs are fantastic to have on salad. The deviled eggs with sweet relish? Not so much, but you never know what you're going to get there. Definitely skip dessert here. I have yet to try a cake that wasn't dry as sawdust. The cheesecake is good but it's put out extremely sparingly and it's gone within 5 minutes because everyone wants it. The one main problem this place has, and it's a big one, their floor is extremely slippery. I am handicapped as is my mother in law and I am so scared of falling. Shoes like skates on ice and someone is going to get hurt.

The food was truly exceptional, and the service was remarkable. Just when I thought I was finished, the ice cream bar surprised me! Fantastic work, Johnny Boy's home cooking. We will certainly return and recommend it to our friends.

In November 2020, I had another fantastic experience. I always appreciate their comforting food and their delightful sweet tea. I’ve included a picture of some small bites of everything I decided to try tonight, and it was incredibly tasty!
