Truchas Selva Madre - Cartago

To hike one of my favorite routes in costa rica. felt like I was in the jungle. better try than paraiso de quetzales, and it costs like $2 to access the property. a must visit if they are in the opposite and oh, they are a trout farm so that they can naturally enjoy fresh trout in their restaurant in the accommodation.

It's a very beautiful place within the cloudy forest, there are trails if you want to have a walk, I want to come back soon with my family

Great place for a family trip if you like to experience the excitement of catching a trout and then eating it. They offer the option of cooking it and add French fries, salad or other options to it and eat it at the restaurant or at the rancho if you were able to get one. Only down side is that they only open on Saturdays and Sundays. You should also bring a jacket

Place is nice, food not so much. No seasoning at all and the fish was a dry

Great spot for fishing and eating. Good place for beginners to catch their first fish. The owner is very friendly and knowledgeable, and if it is not a very busy day, he will be happy to teach you to gut and clean the fish. The price per kilo may seem a bit high, but you are also paying for an experience. Bring a cooler if you want to take a few fish. This site is also available for overlanders, vanlifers and campers for overnight stays.
