I had a pint of Franciscan Well Red. The cider was Orchard Thieves. Of all the pubs we managed to try in Cork, this one had some of the best prices.
We stopped by this restaurant during our visit to Cork as part of our pub crawl. We ordered our usual drink, Morgan and Coke, but it tasted watered down. We even tried switching to just Coke in the next round, but it was still diluted. We drink Morgan's regularly so we could tell the difference. The drinks were also quite expensive.
During a recent visit to Cork, I visited the Larrys Bar for a fast sandwich and a pot of tea. I must point out that I have been in these premises on numerous occasions in the years and have found the foods of good quality and abundant. But that changed during my last visit. My chicken salad arrived immediately, but was in a pile similar to a hay pile in the basket. It consisted of a piece of dry chicken, blood sugar and tomatoes, no sign of cheese Kraut or dressing. Most of the contents were on the bottom of the basket that was pushed down. The whole white bread was certainly a bit on the dated side, and certainly not today's bread. It was obvious that it was beaten up and sandpaper would taste better. larry has to play.
I went in for lunch with my daughter. I had the breakfast boy was it big. Daughter had soup and egg and chip and a bulmer for lest than 24 euro the waitress was very friendly and attentive
My Wife and I visited recently at Lunchtime. It was about quarter to two in the Afternoon. Staff were nice and Friendly and very attentive. My Wife ordered just Soup and I ordered Roast Lamb, as it was the Only Roast left on the Menu Board, I also ordered a Portion of French Fries. Soup was quite nice with Soda Bread. The Roast Dinner was a different story. The Portion of Meat was a Child’s Portion, it was tiny!!!! The Potato Mash was devoid of any flavour, lumpy and ‘gluey’. Worse the Veg was dripping of water and the amount of gravy over was tiny. The French Beans and Cauliflower were definitely of the Frozen Variety, the Chips were good? If I could Rate it a Zero Visit, I would. Give this place a Big Miss!!! Never again!!!
