Elmo's Diner - Carrboro

Big hometown. Consistent good service and good food. We like breakfast all day. The Orange French Toast was delicious and included a funny little snowman in the percussion cream today. Have many lunches and dinners in previous visits and all were also good.

Cool diner tucked away in the beautiful Carr Mill Mall. Our breakfasts were delicious and very generous. Staff was very nice. Can't wait to return.Parking: Parking lot is tight and renowned for towing. In line with the usual miserable parking conditions in Chapel Hill and Carrboro.

This is practically a self service place, seems a little unorganized, you get your own drinks, order and pay before you 're seated. Does not feel very diner like at all. My husband enjoyed his biscuits and gravy. I ordered a breakfast sandwich on brioche and it was very obviously burnt. The person who brought our food, (and seated us, and took our order at the counter) I presume was the owner and he was not very friendly. I asked his opinion on the tots or home fries and he said, it 's your stomach . ? Oh, 'kay, sorry I asked.
