It's difficult for a restaurant to get a 5-star out of me. I'm spoiled by my mom's own Italian cooking. This place compares. I mean, it's better than OG, which I think is too Americanized. Lots of choices on the menu, not just the traditional pizza and pasta dishes. I tried their fusilli with sausage and I was amazed. I had it to go the container had a nice serving size. My only complaint, and it's minor, is that it had a bit too much broth in it for me but it came with a slice of bread and socked some of that up with glee. It's my new favorite place in Carp. And the price? Just right. And the wait? They said 10 minutes. It took a bit less than that but I wouldn't be surprised when this place is packed if it didn't take more time than that. It's worth a visit and then another and another.
We had a bad start at Guicho 's because the host initially said that they were on last call and that the kitchen was about to close. So we felt a bit unwelcome. It 's an interesting Indian food concept. But unfortunatelly it wasn 't spectacular. The wine they offered was natural wine and the same host gave us a very complete description of the wine and all. In the end we did have a good time, but it 's a place I would have to give another shot to see if they can make up for last time.
I travelled here on vacation from Chicago in early Feb 2020 and discovered this fine restaurant. My 2 main choices were a meatball sandwich, and what could be described as a Philly Cheesesteak offer, and also a salad order. The whole food was delicious and I would not hesitate to return here if and when I revisit this area
Light, airy, high-boiling room with statement lights, the intrinsic pretentious species that believe in the avant-garde of all things light design, but hey, we are here mostly for food, right? And the food MacReeves and I enjoyed on a quiet Linden Ave Friday night was cooked kiss when your cook in simple yet delightful seafood pasta, which perfectly sown and delightful al dente. The fatuccine was our favorite of a hair because of its lush but not heavy cream sauce. The Linguin was also delicious and had shrimps and mussels in a light tomato sauce. Yummy garlic bread accompanied the pasta in a small paper package. My regret about the meal? Even din-in customers are served in paper boxes and cups of food. Aesthetic and ecological, this is an unfortunate business decision. Secondly, the shrimps were overcooked and lost the texture and taste that both dishes had taken over the top. Finally, the cold garlic bread could use a quick passage through the oven. Small but important details signal to customers that food and its presentation are as important as your selection of lighting. Even so I will return for your pasta. Tab was about $45 in front of top for two pellegrino, a plastic cup red wine and two pastas. Probably a little steep for counterorder, disposable-style atmosphere, but not unjust in view of the cost of the business. Service was pleasant and efficient.
