Senor Dylan's Cantina - Carpentersville

I had a disappointing experience from the start. I sat at the bar to order a Margarita and some tacos, but the owner refused to serve me a drink because my Wisconsin ID was an older version. I was asked to leave the bar, even though I’m actually 25. My friend also faced issues because they didn’t recognize her new Wisconsin ID. Despite these setbacks, we decided to order food based on previous recommendations, but I was let down by my steak tacos, which were bland and dry. My friend was equally disappointed with her enchiladas, as the chicken was extremely dry and the dish lacked any sauce. When she asked for sour cream, they charged her a dollar for a tiny portion. Additionally, none of the staff or owners were following the Illinois mask mandate. The only bright spot in our visit was our waiter, who was friendly and attentive, especially considering it was only his third day on the job.

Not so authentic Tacos were not so amazing. The beef was over boiled and chew with a consistency that I just like to rubber. No utensils delivered. Go with Senor Dylan?s cantina fries with chicken chorizo. Eat well!

YOU BETTER CHECK YOUR TO-GO ORDER BEFORE LEAVING. I just ordered steak taco dinner, traditional as what they said, only onion cilantro with NO BEANS! Also steak burrito with NO BEANS! As you can see on the pictures, my order is overwhelmed by BEANS, you can?t even see any onion or cilantro. I got gout so although steak is bad for me, I?m staying away from beans. Also it doesn?t comes with sauce or anything, that?s unacceptable. I really used to like this place and also support local businesses, but I don?t know if I?ll go back again. I?m really disappointed this time.

I don?t usually review places, but this place has some of the best Mexican food I?ve ever had. I am in the middle of eating my el toro burrito, and it?s amazing. It?s perfectly spicy. Last week we had the build it yourself tacos, and the meat fell off the bone. All of their food tastes like it?s all made from scratch. Even their tortillas taste like their from scratch. Our orders are getting bigger and bigger, just because we want to try everything they have. I am definitely a weekly customer. Keep up the great food!!!

This restaurant is fantastic! It's some of the best Mexican food I've had in a long time. I absolutely love the unique twist on the Mexican tacos on the menu—they're delicious! The gaming experience is also top-notch, and I ended up bringing more money than I needed.
