The Anchorage - Carolina Township

Honestly I can’t stress enough how small the portion sizes are. I will not be back because we spent $180 and are currently ordering a pizza. I gave two stars because the flavors were good on most things we ordered.

My wife and I are on a trip up the East Coast, no destinations planned just driving and exploring. We heard rumors about Greenville having an exciting food scene and after our first dinner at the Anchorage we know that the rumors are true! Super disappointing experience. Food was a 4/5 although portions are tiny. Service was remarkable terrible. Maybe they were understaffed but no explanation was offered. We ordered three cocktails and one arrived pretty late but the others arrived AFTER the first dishes which at this level of restaurant and price point is just unacceptable. The tasting menu is a great way to experience the Anchorage. Each course consists of multiple plates and they are all fantastic.

Went all in on the Chef's tasting menu, and it was such a great choice. There were several daring flavor combinations but they were all massive hits, often surprising me. Must try if you're in GVL.
