Hanagasa - Carmel By the Sea

Terrible service, stay away. The entire staff is extremely RUDE . We have lived in Carmel for over 8 years and this is the worst experience we have ever had in a restaurant. This place is not what Carmel is about. The one thing Carmel is known for most is small Mom Pops restaurant and company. For the most part, Mom Pops company is known for excellent service, courteous, friendly, friendly behavior, but this place does not meet any of the above. The rude behavior begins from the minute you go and it takes until you go. We ordered Hawaiian ahi poke appetizer and it was extremely spicy and it had only very few pieces of ahi tuna, we did not touch it and returned. The madman cried to us when she removed it from our table. Then we hear her and the cook scream more than she brought it back to the kitchen. At this moment we thought about going, but decided to give it a chance. Wrong decision. The rest of the food was nothing to wake home. But the bad service and the middle mugging continued. Finally, we had enough and asked for the check, to our surprise they had added the previously returned appetizers to our bill. When we asked to remove it, hell broke. The madman and the boss (owner/manager) we screamed and refused to remove him. After a few minutes of dispute he finally assumed that his behavior was wrong, although not happy, he eventually removed it from our bill. But not before his disagreement. He literally warned the recipe and put me on to sign. Please stay away from here. Terrible service.

Local Jewel family owned restaurant. Great sushi. Definitely worth a visit!

Had the chirashi bowl. The fish was fresh and tasty. They also offer a chirashi plate, if you don't like digging under the fish for rice.

Very good restaurant. I can safely say it is my favorite. The food was delicious and the staff were great. I ordered the Magic Dragon Roll and it was terrific. I highly recommend this place.
