York Palace - Carmarthenshire

Such a mixed up night for this place. We have been in many Wetherspoons throughout the UK, usually no reason to complain. But the York Palace in Llanelli... Wow... Food orders short... Wrong items sent.... Items missing... And drink orders... another Wow.... Missing drinks... Single sent as doubles... Staff backing each other claiming Oh yes just checked Video she poured a double... OMG WILL NOT BE BACK TO THIS Wetherspoons.... HEY TIM THIS ONE NEXT... (wink wink cheers mate... Allun)

Eggs Benedict is typically a standard dish at Wetherspoons, but this time it was disappointing. On September 16th, the egg yolks were overcooked, the muffin was barely toasted, the ham was cold, and there was no rocket. It was just average and not up to the usual standard of other Wetherspoons locations. Perhaps the regular kitchen staff were not working that day and it was agency workers. It's a dish that should be easy to get right.

The York Palace (Wetherspoons) has been my new local since I moved back to the Carmarthenshire area in January. The A Team were on today! Steph and Julie. Both of them are so cheerful every time I have visited and today they were both on shift together. I can honestly say it makes all the difference when you have staff like this working together and you could tell by the general atmosphere. It was a cheerful place to be in, despite it being a grey Sunday afternoon. Give these two a pay rise Wetherspoons! If you are in the area, I can highly recommend The York Palace whether you want a few drinks, lunch or coffee. They cater for all. Most of the staff here are always super friendly and helpful, but if you are in when these two are, you 've hit the jackpot!

We can here quite regular at various times of the day, week. Well last Thursday curry night, I ordered a starter of 4 poppadoms and dips on the app, paid my £1.61. The starter arrived, with only 2 poppadoms. The server, explained there were no dips, out of stock!!! I explained, indicated from the menu that there should be 4 poppadoms, he returned with the further two. So I ended up paying £1.61 for four poppadoms, when I could have had them for 86p, had I just ordered the poppadoms!!!! Not the first time stock is out if stock. Hopefully better luck next time.

I wish they would improve their hot breakfast service. It seems like the food is sitting around for too long before it's brought to the table. The toast is often just lukewarm white bread.
