Tidbit Restaurant - Carman

This restaurant recently changed hands. I was in town visiting family and we heard mixed things on the new ownership. It was terrific. Very fresh and flavourful and I’m fortunate to live on the west coast where we are spoiled for choice for Asian food. I’ve eaten under previous owners before and it had been mediocre at best.

Whether you order the buffet or off the menu, you get excellent choices. I found more deep-fried food at this Chinese restaurant than I normally do, but I stuck mostly with the shrimp and the special-fried rice. They were pretty good.

Have ordered take-out on many occasions (family loves the food}, gone for lunch quite often (specials are fantastic and very reasonably priced) and gone for Sunday buffets (super). Never disappointed!!!

Tidbit Restaurant has been under new management, and does not disappoint! Although the decor has not changed, it has been a welcome change to see the smiling faces of the new owners. There are a few new things that have been added to the menu as well. We go there quite a bit and I decided to try their deluxe soup. Oh my! So good!! It was a meal in itself I could hardly finish it!! It is loaded with fresh vegetables and assorted meat and shrimp. Very very tasty. Excellent food and excellent prompt service!

Good reviews, off I went. Decor is basic 'small town restaurant '. The service is well intentioned and prompt but low quality, and not attentive to customer needs. I chose the buffet as everyone seemed to be going there. MISTAKE! The kitchen had a hard time keeping up: half the bins were empty. Most of the items in the buffet were fried. Would I come again, yes. But I would take a pass on the buffet and try something else. The menu seemed like it had a good variety.
