Menchie's - Carlsbad

We have not been to this location before. It was nice and clean as to be expected from their stores. No complaints there. My son wanted an ice cream cake for his birthday (in December) but asked for it to say Happy Easter. They happily obliged with the printed message with a chuckle. The cakes are definitely not their shining area and not all locations make them. There was a thin layer of cake, then 2 different yogurt layers (sorbet not recommended because of water content), and then layers of mix-ins. One of our mix-ins was missing but obviously we couldn't tell that until we got home and cut into the cake. Every ice cream cake place I've known puts another layer of cake between the layers, but not here. So we expected 2 layers of cake since there were 2 layers of yogurt, but that wasn't the case. There also was no outside decorations offered to us, but on the slip they are a couple options listed. It would be improved if they pressed some topping in the side of the cake or sprinkled some on top. Without the the printed message, this cake would have looked very plain. Well it did look plain, but with absolutely no color but white or any decoration.

Flavors are great! The Cookies and Cream is probably the best one! Should be there year around. The staff is great and Brody is always super helpful.

Plenty of yogurt flavors and toppings. Staff is helpful and store is super clean!

Very good for frozen yogurt. The toppings are always fresh.

Friendly staff and very clean facility. Love the rotating flavors, something new almost every time the family goes.
