Gonzo! Ramen - Carlsbad

The best ramen in North County San Diego! The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is laid-back, making it feel like you've been transported somewhere else. I enjoyed every moment. The ramen was of high quality and absolutely delicious. Thank you!

We tried the black garlic tonkatsu, which I would rate 3.5/5. The ramen came with half an egg, bean sprouts, black mushrooms, and green onions. However, we thought the egg could have benefited from a longer marination. **Broth:** The broth could have been a bit creamier. **Noodles:** They were perfectly cooked—just the right texture, not soggy at all. **Beef:** The portion was generous, featuring two thick slices that were bursting with flavor. It was undoubtedly some of the best ramen beef I’ve ever tasted. **Spice:** The side of spice wasn’t really spicy; it was more of a garlic with chili oil blend. Overall, the ramen was excellent! The only thing missing was some seaweed. I can see why this place is always crowded and a favorite among locals—a fantastic ramen spot for a small town! **Staff:** Despite the crowd, the staff does an excellent job of ensuring everyone is well taken care of.

I had an incredible experience at this restaurant! The service was outstanding, and the food and ambiance were exceptional. It's a great place for families and pets alike. I had a wonderful time and loved the relaxed vibe. I'll definitely be returning and will recommend it to my friends and family. Oh, and don't miss out on the hot sake—it’s fantastic! I'm from LA and love Ramen. I always try to find a good Ramen joint. Man O man! This was some of the best Ramen I've had! Broth had an excellent flavor. Even the pork belly was seasoned to the tee. The soft boiled egg was perfectly cooked. All the veggies were a perfect compliment. My son got the chicken bowl and the fried chicken in it surpassed any fried chicken joint. The owner even came by and asked how the food was. I had to tell him the truth and say it was excellent with two thumbs up!!! Great job GONZO!!

Food was great, tasty and flavorable broth. Good portion of Chai-Siu and fried Chicken with Ramen Noodles.
