Chandler's Oceanfront Dining - Carlsbad

The first time there and I loved it. The interior and the restaurant is very nice. The outdoor seats have a view of the sea. This is a great place for drinks or brunch. My cocktail was delicious and the poke. I love this parking lot is easy. I highly recommend it!

This place never disappoints. You have the most amazing drink called Butterfly Flutterby. Our first time here we celebrated my birthday in February 2021. The restaurant had recently reopened since COVID and tried to get started again. We had no reservations. We just wanted a few cocktails and an appetizer at the bar. I think we might have made plans to eat in another restaurant. It was a lively atmosphere. The bar area was completely loud. Many 20 and 30 things that enjoy being outside. We were led to a table on the OTHER side of the restaurant. It was calm; almost TOO quiet. We were outside (for we were not allowed to eat inside). I looked around and felt like I was in this resort/club of Dirty Dancing with all the 60 and 70 things. We had already met our server and the bus. He was so nice and respectful. I felt awfully asked for another table. He offered to follow us with our water. Unfortunately there were no open tables for Happy Hour. We waited a few minutes. My husband disappeared a few minutes, then back with the manager and asked that we follow him to our table. Wait. What? We have the last table on the terrace; the front row for the sunset. I felt like a VIP! The only heating left was one that had stopped working and was put on the side. The manager was determined to get rid of it for which I was grateful. He must have spent almost 20 minutes before a flame finally appeared. I make the rest fast We ordered the Ahi Nachos for an appetizer and finally stayed through HH and directly to dinner. Uncertain what to order for dinner, I decided to share the burger with my husband... on condition that it is NO arugula! Ick! Gag! I'm 2 drinks on the arrival of the burger. Forget about the Arugula, I take big ol' man size bite out of him. I managed to swallow it, but not before I came to realize that the cook went with Arugula instead of salad or spinach. I can only say everything I'm gonna say is... that was the best bug I've ever had! better than Cassidy in Newport. I hate to admit it, but it was the Arugula that made it. If you find yourself at Chandler's, do not miss the opportunity to try the Burger. SOFA KING Güd!

We had such an amazing experience for our first time with this restaurant, I took my engagement and best friend for a treat. The food was absolutely to die! The service was by far the best I had in a very long time. They had real talks with us and made us feel like friends of the restaurant. The atmosphere was really amazing, by far one of the most convenient sit down menus I had in a long time! We will come back as much as possible!

Had several meals here during our stay at Cape Rey Carlsbad Beach Hotel. Dinner was excellent! Great food service!

We ate here every day of our stay for either lunch or dinner. The wait staff are good, friendly and quick. The food really is top notch. The pastry chef is unbelievably talented.The interesting thing we noticed about being repeat customers was that there was an inconsistency in the dishes from day to day. Sometimes it was a generous portion, sometimes it felt lacking. For lunch, it surprised us that some dishes are served in lunch portion but charged at the same price as the dinner portion. If you eat outside, it gets exceptionally hot in the evening.
