Aya Japanese Steakhouse - Carlisle

We visit this restaurant two or three times a month, and after reading some of the other reviews, I’m not sure which restaurant those people went to. Perhaps they were just upset they couldn’t get a free meal. My wife, who is half Japanese, and I absolutely love this place. The food is consistently delicious, and the staff is fantastic. We will definitely keep coming back and often choose this restaurant for special occasions.

The service was good, although they seemed a bit short-staffed, with only one Hibachi chef. This meant that each table had to wait while he cooked and performed for the previous group. Some of the other Hibachi chefs have been more entertaining and funny, but he still did a commendable job and cooked the food well. Thank you for the birthday ice cream, silly mask, and the banging drums—it made the experience even more fun! Our 2-year-old grandson, who can be unpredictable, really enjoyed watching the cooking process and eating the food, which resulted in great behavior from him! We’ll definitely come back for my next birthday, if not before. One suggestion I have is to replace the iceberg lettuce with that odd dressing with a more authentic Japanese salad.
