Tasty, interesting eating, but the environment, in a large outdoor house not liked by the pub was unusual. could have been a little bigger. my pork with lenses had only 3 small pieces of pork. overall, expensive and I don't think I'm going...back
Great freh sourdough and foccacia bread. then had two starter specials, langoustines to die for and lamb shank ravioli (pasta a bit hard). my husband started eith butternut squash, celeriac and truffle tart which was very good. he then had duck, mash and heritage carrots....all rasted good but was swimming in broth which didnt really work with mash. the custart tart was a cross between pastel de nata and crem brulee delicious. husband’s buttermilk pudding was like lemon pannacotta. quality cooking, good service, not too expensive for the quality.
Very good food and very good value. Main courses around £18-£25 each, adequate portion, very good home made bread. Short menu a very good thing) but all our table's dishes were excellent. Good range of local ales.
We booked a late lunch at 2pm. The lunch menu runs until 2.30 so we were assured by staff this was fine. Very disappointed. Food was nice but mediocre service. Disappointed. Expected more.
