Smoked salmon, foie gras, Dorade and Brochettes of Duck with Peaches were excellent. I have never had such tasty crisp sweet potatoe fries. Mouthwatering. Desserts were equally good. Wish I lived locally
There are plenty of kiss me quick places to eat around Maubuisson and even an excellent artisan steak eatery in the campsite at Carcans, but if you are looking for an authentic French meal with slightly more finesse than pizza, burgers, or steak and chips on plastic chairs, this place provides locally sourced, excellent cuisine and local wines for a good value budget. Believe me I’m a local!
Went for lunch with my family (including 18 month old daughter) and we were warmly welcomed. We all opted for the menu du jour, which was €13.50 per person. This included a buffet style starter, which offered enormous choice, a main course of which there was a choice of 5 dishes, and a dessert which could be chosen straight from the fridge. The value for money was phenomenal, but the food was even better. My husband and I both had kangaroo in a casserole type thing, with chips and rice. It was so tender and tasty so much meat I couldn't finish mine. My mum had steak, which was enormous and my dad had fish was he said was beautiful. The decor in the restaurant was really quirky and fun but also stylish at the same time. The toilets were lovey and clean, and even had a baby changing table stocked with nappies and wet wipes!! I didn't have any wine (pregnant) but I'm told it was lovely. Will definitely be back. Highly recommended.
12 euro menu was better than we could expect. Wine awful, salad buffet good, jambon main lovely, and apple tart too cold to taste. If passing well worth stopping if only to see eccentric flowery decor.
The fish soup, the dessert buffet:not homemade avoid the dashed plate: a lot of defrosted!
