Stone Jug - Carbonear

We have expected here that the menu that was on the website and it was not available that was a sub standard menu just something to do with the owner is a way the menu is like a lunch menu no net muscles are good, everything else was very bland not impressed as I was here several tomes and it was very good, then the plastic is very busy and when u-order things are very easy to forget about to say the

I am giving The Stone Jug 1-star because of their terrible communication of closures. They have a FB page and a website and nothing indicates they are closed. I suspected they were closed because I called to make a reservation and the voicemail was full. This happened once before to me about a year ago and it ended up they were closed for a private event. Such a shame because the food is delicious and the servers are top notch. I hope they can figure this out for future closures and special occasions.

Went for a drive and ended up in Carbonear, went for a stroll up Water St and we got hungry. Never in Stone Jug before, I’ll be honest, I didn’t even know it existed.We sat and were offered something to drink within a minute. Waitress took our order and within no time the food hit the table, I had the blue cheese burger and I’ll give it a big thumbs up and I can honestly say I will be back for another one.

This is a wonderful building and great atmosphere here. A nice location and a view of the water. But sadly it stops there, the food was ok, the service was ok bit they are understaffed out of the kitchen. They did have a few gluten free options which is always nice to see, but not many vegetarian or any vegan options.

Beautiful historic building with great food. Nice experience.
