We enjoyed butternut squash soup, salad, stuffed chicken, frozen cake, and berry cobbler, and everything was fantastic. The cranberry raspberry martini was also delicious. The restaurant is clean, beautifully decorated, and located in a wonderful spot. It truly is a hidden gem in Carbonear!
Our experience at this bed and breakfast was fantastic. We made dinner reservations in advance and were delighted with our four-course meal. Craig, the chef, is excellent and the presentation of the food was lovely. The salad, soup, entree, and dessert were all delicious, and there was a diverse selection of drinks available. Our room was spacious, quiet, and comfortable, with added amenities like a remote-controlled ceiling fan, complimentary coffee and tea, and a mini-fridge. For breakfast, we were offered a choice of eggs and ham, ham omelette, or cinnamon French toast, with juice, coffee/tea, and homemade jams served at our own table. Though the rooms are upstairs, the stairwell is wide and our host was helpful in carrying our luggage. We highly recommend this place.

Although the dining options were limited for the public, the meals we enjoyed were of true fine dining quality. It was evident that they were prepared by a skilled and experienced chef, in this case, Bruce. My pork tenderloin and my wife's stuffed chicken breast were perfectly cooked, tender, and accompanied by a delicious array of sides. The vegetables were so tasty that I could have easily eaten a plate full of them. The appetizers, including a roasted mushroom puree soup and a vinaigrette roasted beet salad, were superb. We couldn't resist trying the frozen caramel cake for dessert, which was as delicious as it looked in the photos on their website. I am not one to indulge in desserts often, but I ended up devouring my own and then some. Bruce truly outdid himself with every dish.
In our many travels, this is one of the best B Bs we have stayed in. The food was amazing as was the service. Bruce and Craig were very attentive and entertaining. We would highly recommend the Baccalieu for anyone going to this area.
