The atmosphere was down home, the wonderful lady that waited on us greeted us like OHANA , in fact all 3 ladies were GREAT. We sampled their entire menu as it is small but EVERYTHING they did was made with love and incredibly good! I would give it 10 stars if I could!
We went out of our way to go here on our son’s recommendation… I’m glad we did! So far it’s the best food we’ve had on the island. Simply amazing everything fresh and soooooo tender. Melt in your mouth good. Not to mention the friendly staff very gracious… they even offered to loan us beach towels after we inquired where they’d recommend to get some because they thought we were just here for the afternoon! You can’t get much friendlier than that. Anyhoo highly recommended … get the food and chit chat just like at your house.
Is 6 stars an option? We pulled up and the sign said “sold out”, and we panicked a bit. Pulled out our phones and started looking for another place to eat, and then this super nice lady comes out and says “I have two more plates left if you want!” We went in, she let us sit even though she was close to closing, the canned juice was amazing and the homemade coconut pudding We wanted to go back again a few days later but they were still sold out! Overall a fantastic experience. Wonderful people service wonderful food. If you get a chance to eat at this authentic Hawaiian restraint, DO IT. (They were also very knowledgeable about allergens and were able to suggest menu items that I could eat gluten free!
Eating our lunch at this place was one of the memorable experiences from our big island trip. This family owned restaurant does not have any fancy set up but offers authentic and tasty Hawaiian food that we were looking for. Apart from the yummy food, we were blown away by the warm hospitality of the people and the genuine affection they showed to our 2.5 yrs old daughter. We would definitely recommend this place.
We were sent here by our a tour guide to get real local food and it did not disappoint! It is run by family members who (as I understand) originally started making Laulau out of their garage then got so popular they turned their house into a small restaurant. It is definitely hole in the wall feel, but the food was awesome. We went in and asked for recommendations. She asked us if we wanted a snack or meal and any aversions. Then said sit down and I will feed you . It was awesome to try a little of multiple dishes.
