The Blue Pig Tavern - CAPE MAY

This was our first time eating at the Blue Pig and staying at Congress Hall. The food was delicious. The service was professional and friendly. If there was a negative, we felt it was a little too dark. We get ambience but every person there had to use their phone light to read their menu.

The manager that was working last night was ineffective and should be fired. We made several complaints about a drunk and obnoxiously loud party of women. Three times!!!! The managers conduct was unprofessional and argumentative. Many people dining were visibly upset about the noise and yet you continued to serve them alcohol!

One meal (short ribs) was good. The other (sea bass) came out “cool” (not hot). This was quickly remedied (good service) but the sauce didn't do much for the dish. Restaurant was a bit noisy as well.

The service was very good, our drinks were delicious, the beet salad was amazing, and the food was ok. The problem we had was that the restaurant was so dark, we could not read the menu without our flashlights. Further, we could not see our food when it arrived. We basically ate in the dark. There were areas of the restaurant that seemed to have better lighting, but our table was tucked in. We were disappointed that we could not see our food without a flashlight.

Appetizer ..deviled eggs..had an odd taste. Eggplant was good but nothing I would order again. Mussels average ..3 were not open Beef was very good. Not one of the better experiences . Been going there every year for past 9 years
