Peter Shields Inn - CAPE MAY

We went to PSI for a milestone birthday, which we noted when we made the reservation. Despite a busy evening, I was a bit disappointed when we were seated in the chilly back room in a tight corner rather than the nicer dining room. Our food was okay, but nothing to write home about. For example, my husband ordered the halibut, but the bottom was slightly undercooked; it could’ve done with an additional 30 60 seconds in our opinion. For dessert, we ordered the crème brûlée with mixed berries, but that’s an exaggeration—there was 3 blueberries and 1 strawberry on top of an average crème brûlée. Finally, I was a little disappointed that the restaurant didn’t offer any additional birthday treat. That said, our server was lovely, attentive, qnd wished me happy birthday, which I appreciated! Overall, we felt it was overpriced for the experience. Maybe we’ll try again in the on season and see if it’s better then.

50th Anniversary Celebration that became a wonderful dinning experience.

Love the food, people, atmosphere. The staff were polite and very well trained in the art of fine dining. I would continue to recommend this experience to all who visit Cape May, NJ.

Thanksgiving. For $95 a head not great. Cold bread, had the Turkey dinner, no cranberry sauce? Really? I don’t think there’s a shortage of cranberry sauce it’s kind of a given for Thanksgiving. Got the pumpkin cheesecake cake. Just a dried up piece in a plate, not even whipped cream or a drizzle of sauce on plate. This was our 4th time coming on the Holiday, we had 2:45pm reservations. Just disappointed because this is one of our favorite places.
