Carol's Cafe - Canyon Dam

This is a must-visit dining spot if you're in Chester, CA.

This is a straightforward diner located at a campground that seems to haven't changed much since the 1980s. The service is friendly and welcoming, although it can be a bit slow, especially since they often accommodate large families from the campground. While the staff's loud conversations can be a bit overwhelming, their warm demeanor makes up for it. Some background music might enhance the atmosphere. The food is what you would typically expect from a diner. We didn't sample the pies, but they certainly looked delicious.

The breakfast was outstanding! I had the garden eggs Benedict, which came with hash browns and a side of bacon.

The best quality American country breakfast i have ever had! Ever. I commented to the waitress that I didn’t want to drink coffee because I wanted the taste of potatoes to linger in my mouth. But then I tried homemade blueberry muffins baked this morning like they are every day. Amazing! I would drive back here just to have breakfast.

We had a great time trying breakfast and then lunch the next day. The staff is great, the food is good especially for such a remote spot. The only downfall is the wait but that seems to be with just how busy they get. I would recommend a visit just plan ahead to wait for a little.
