Szechuan - Canton

The food lacked balance greasy, overly sweet, and the beef was dry. The cocktails were overpowering, masking the mixers.

I went to Szechuan Restaurant with my wife and in-laws for dinner during our last visit to Michigan. We had a nice time and the food was good. The service was great and quick. We had food to take home as well. I would recommend this restaurant and giving it five out of five stars.

Sadly I did not like my food. I ordered coconut shrimp white rice and won ton soup. Other family have raved about this restaurant but had not been here for a year. The coconut shrimp had no taste! Same with rice. I didnt even like their plum sauce and I love plum sauce so I know how it should taste! Won ton soup tasted odd. Service was excellent! Might go again but very disappointed for 1st time other than service which we really appreciated.

As one of the highest rated Chinese restaurants in Canton, I was looking forward to trying the General Tso chicken, my always go to order. Though the heat level was good (medium) it was pretty tasteless. There was no signature sweetness with the heat, the sauce was super thin and the chicken pieces were stringy. Major disappointment. TKU Wu in Ann Arbor is where to go for amazing Chinese dishes!

I had the General Tso lunch special. The fried rice and spring roll were pretty good. I'm not sure if what was in the plum sauce, but it had an odd texture. Maybe the consistency of apple sauce? It was still pretty good. The chicken, however, was not good. Lots of grissle and the sauce was not good. It was bland. I ate the rice and spring roll, but did not eat the chicken.The service was good. The server was very attentive and the restaurant was clean.
