Shisho Palace - Canton

This is one of our favorite spots in the Near East, whether we choose to dine in or take out. The food is superb, and the ambiance is wonderfully inviting, featuring traditional Lebanese decor. Our top pick is the chicken kafta, which is tender and flavorful. The portion sizes are generous, and the prices are reasonable.

The service was quick and friendly. I tried the hummus, which was made with a tomato base that sets it apart from most Mediterranean restaurants. My boyfriend really enjoyed the chicken shawarma, and they provided a very generous portion.

The next day, my boyfriend noticed an unexpected $5 charge on his card for a service fee. When he called to inquire about it, they informed him that they had added a mandatory 15% tip, which we were never told about verbally or displayed anywhere in the restaurant. We were shocked to hear this. Despite the poor service, we had intended to return, but after this incident, we've decided against it. If you choose to eat here, be prepared for subpar service and consider paying in cash only.

That is the best near east food I had in the region Plymouth/Canton! I order to make a lot of effort from here. everything is always fresh and tasty and punctual. really big portions for a good price. Don't even take me on the smooth. 10/10 recommend?

They charged my card more than what was on the receipts. I left a cash tip, so there was absolutely no reason to charge me extra. I don't care if it was just $1.24, it's the audacity for me. Never eating here again.
