The Eatery Cafe - Canterbury

I have visited this restaurant last summer and had to send food back because it wasn’t up to standard. This year I went for lunch. My friend ordered a cooked breakfast he said it had been warmed up. We waited 45 mins for our food...to arrive. The manager that is also manager of the Italian restaurant below this one in Fenwick seems to be working there full time now. His hygiene was unbelievable. They are telling us to dettol gel our hands before eating I would have loved to have taken the cloth he was wiping over the tables and checked to see how many germs were in that. He literally had a cloth in his hands not even spraying the tables first. He picked up dirty plates ect and just wiped off if any food was left behind in table. I saw him going from table to table. If he had a spray with him god knows when the cloth was washed or changed ect. Please do something about this place. Get new management in or shut it down.

Looking for a place for a spot of breakfast, we tried The Eatery Restaurant Cafe on the 2nd (I think) floor of Fenwicks. My wife has eaten here before, but this was my first time. I opted for the small breakfast, where you select...four items from the big breakfast list and toast. This suits me fine, as I always take off some of the other things that I do not like from the big breakfast. I had a pot of breakfast tea to drink. This, in my oppinion was too weak. Next time, I'll ask for less water in the pot. But all in all a nice place to have breakfast and I will happily return.

A beautiful, welcoming and very friendly cafe/restaurant . eating is skrumny and the coffee amazing made by francesco the singing Italian who had always a smile ... now sad is moved. bring back francesco

Here called for lunch and had the huh and avocado club, which was very tasty and fresh. the service was excellent and could not blame. we would definitely recommend and we will return

Welcoming and COVID. Excellent food, great portions and well priced. Room between tables. Good atmosphere and staff is very helpful.
