Thien Phu - Cannes

Living near this restaurant I used to visit it frequently on my visits to Cannes over the years. Indeed I would regard myself as a “ regular “ From what was an absolutely excellent restaurant for Asian cuisine particularly the friendly service it has changed dramatically in the last 12 months. Indeed it won an award for excellence in 2017. My observations are based on 3 separate dining experiences over the time period June 2018 to September 2019. It seems the owner, an older very friendly man has taken a back seat for a younger man who is abrupt and lacks the finesse of dealing with customers. Guests used to be given a free welcome Kir upon arrival but now this is hit and miss. The same can be said of a strong liquor on finishing your meal. This unexpected gesture was a lovely welcoming touch. The food remains tasty but tends to be rushed. You simply cannot enjoy wonderful Vietnamese cuisine with an unfriendly attitude. I am writing this review so that the management can take note of my observations and hopefully revert back to its former friendly ways.

Like this restaurant very much.food very authentic Vietnamese and Asian, consistently good. Nice people, very reasonable prices for Cannes. About 40euro for 2 including 2x50cl house Rose wine. We recommend this restaurant, by the way they have seating outside as well.
