Soi VIII Thai on Griffith - Canberra

Bit pricey but authentic . Nice spicy Tom yum soup . We really liked the green curry with chicken . Did not disappoint although a little more expensive than we expect

Very nice Thai cheap eat ! hot green curry but it is probably the best I have ever had, the pad Thai is also great Nearly ran into Jamie Oliver's restaurant next door, booked a table an then found out from Zomato it is only 2.8, ran away Lucky we found something nice for dinner as we rang a few places here and they all closed for holiday

We were ten for a birthday dinner and went with one of the banquets (we chose the cheaper one because of the mussaman beef and then ordered some extra green curry...) service was friendly and the food was terrific. I always enjoy eating here. It is BYO so be sure to bring wine!

Soi VIII (which means Eighth Street) is our local Thai. How lucky are we? One of the best in Canberra, producing consistently good Thai food across the board, we've been coming here for years. Dining in is always a pleasure although it can get busy, particularly on the weekend. While the surrounds are modest, the food is presented with great care and is always delicious. We love the Pad Thai and Gai Grob Kaew (crispy chicken) and have worked our way through all the entrees and most of the main courses. Take away is good too. Again, a focus on both taste and presentation ensures a good meal almost always. The only slight drawback is that when they're busy they sometimes badly underestimate the time for pick up. Standing around for 20 minutes or longer is not cool, so that's an area to work on. The Griffith shops is a bit of an "eat street" zone with some quality foodie offerings; Soi 8 holds its own in this tough market.

Arrived late on a Saturday without a booking. The young waitress showed us straight to a table without a problem. Food is excellent and my wife remarked how all plates were going back into the kitchen empty. Great service and great food.
