The Baxter

Maharaj is a good place for affordable Indian food. They have a great variety that really makes one appreciate how much can be done without meat. That coupled with the fact that they serve reasonably big portions for very low prices makes this a very nice spot. But If you hope to sit down here then look for somewhere else. The restaurant is small ad cramped. It's best to order here and take your food somewhere comfortable. Bonus tip to UCT students, they take emergency vouchers here.

What an outstanding dining experience this turned out to be! Our server Thabile truly went above and beyond to ensure we had the best dining experience possible. The atmosphere was very laid-back, with great music. The food was incredibly amazing, especially the Chateaubriand which was cooked to perfection! The bone marrow was delicious, and the sides delicious! We also had multiple desserts, which we truly enjoyed. The creme Brule was really good, and the bottles of wine really food! I highly recommend going there for dinner!

Love the setup and decor, very cozy and romantic. Service was top notch even though there were 1 or 2 hiccups it was rectified without hesitation or us as a customer having to say anything. Absolutely loved it. Their Cheesecake is FANTASTIC . Highly recommended their Boerie starter.

Delicious steak meal and cocktails and chocolate vodka were all stellar. Enjoyable atmosphere as well

Tuesday 'date ' night special. I don 't know how the Hussar afford to do this and still deliver incredible quality and excellent service. Not photos due to amazing company. But absolutely totally worth it.
