Stopped in to the nursery on Sunday and the restaurant looked so inviting that we decided to have a seat for lunch. They have an enticing menu as well as fresh specials of the day written on the black board. I tried the prego roll which had just the right amount of chili in it, while my partner went for their fresh grilled hake served with croquettes and butternut purée. This place is a definite win for friendly service, warm waiters, and tasty food.
Had coffee and cake here for the first time in many years. The food was really good, as was the coffee. The restaurant is usually full of locals at lunch time. I always enjoy being surrounded by the plants as I eat
A cute spot hidden away in the Southern Suburbs at Stark Ayres nursery. It's best to sit outside in the garden, as inside can get quite stuffy and noisy. The food is usually good, but I often find service quite slow (although always friendly! . I've had their toasties and burger before both great and I know their Thai fishcakes are supposed to be good too. This time round I had their quiche of the day (aubergine, tomato and olive served with salad, which is a nice healthy portion. Others at the table had the prawn and avo salad (nice and light , fish and chips, and sirloin steak special. Everyone was happy with their meal!
Set within the Starke Ayres grounds this establishment has a great garden/greenhouse effect that makes you smile to be eating in a garden. Food is fabulous and cost effective and there is a notice board offering daily specials! Service could be stepped up a notch at times :
