Shot in the Dark Cafe - Campbell River

Staff were exceptionally friendly, and incredibly helpful when we needed advice on the menu, directions, and when we needed to call a cab back to Courtenay. The options for vegans was great - sandwich was the best I have had for a while! And the soya latte hit the right spot to start the day off! Would highly recommend a visit to anyone in the Campbell River area! :)

My wife & I tried this place for lunch while on a trip to Campbell River. We both had the santa fe sandwich was recommended by our server as his "absolute favourite". When our food arrived I was amazed at the size of the sandwich. Too bad it wasn't as good as it looked. There was an abundance of onion on it which over powered everything else. It was also served with a few stale tortilla chips and a tiny pickle. While eating I over heard our server twice recommend other sandwiches to customers as his "absolute favourite". Prices seemed a little steep as well. I will not be stopping by on my next trip to Campbell River.

This is the only place over 2 weeks in BC that we ran into grumpy unfriendly staff. One with a hat on barley could be bothered to answer question if we were in the right pkace to place a food order. The other disposed a slightly more approachable manner , the chowder was served lukewarm in a chipped bowl. The coffee(latte) was 50% froth so when asked for more coffee a top up was from a thermos not the espresso machine. The sandwich was huge and delishious and the chowder tasted great once heated.

Group of restaurant workers made a coop where they were the boss. Saturday afternoon without an alcohol licence they were busy. If you are a NGO leader check this place out. I am fussy about health food. This place passes

Decent coffee and a range of egg dishes. The Wrangler, with eggs, beef, mushrooms, onions and peppers and cheese was delicious. Not necessarily a bargain st $14 but very good.
