Fusilli Grill - Campbell River

This restaurant is not very good. When I went for lunch, I ordered pasta but it was never cooked properly. The tomato sauce was good, but they served me pasta with salad on top. The restaurant has since permanently closed down.

We visit Campbell River every year or two and have been coming to Fusilli Grill each time at their old location. The new location smells musty, looks run down and the room was freezing. We were the only people in the restaurant. Not a good sign during dinner hour. We ordered the calamari and it came out really fast. It looked very pale, and had no flavour. It needed some seasoning. Won't be coming back.

Four of us enjoyed drinks and a sumptuous seafood chowder on the spacious deck overlooking the Campbell River, much-entertained by splashing salmon... and three seals no doubt feasting on pinks and coho.As the evening cooled, we moved into the cosy upstairs dining area and started our generous mains; a Prawn Shrimp Scallop Fettucini, a Chicken Curry Stirfry, my Hunter Pork Schnitzel, and a Smoked Chicken Pesto. Two very reasonably priced bottles of red (an Argentinian Malbec/Shiraz... and a Perseus Cab/Merlot) complemented our meals.We shared a Trio Cheesecake... maybe just a little too sweet for some. (Not a crumb remained!)Our waiter Rita was outstanding. Service was impeccable. Nothing was too much trouble and our interest in the Lodge was repaid with a brief but fascinating history of this riverside restaurant... .We’ll be back!

We went op zoek naar een vrij eenvoudig maar goed restaurant met lekker eten en dat kregen we. he zijn Eigenlijk twee restaurants, een pub deel en een fine dining deel. wij kozen voor de pub en kregen lekkere justen met twee erg aardige serveersters. aanrader!

First of all the waitress was very nice and very helpful. It was nice to see a waitress dressed up in !!! We sat on the upstairs deck and enjoyed a bottle of wine and the view of the lazy Campbell River and the beautiful weather. Sad to say this was disrupted by loud drunk guy from the pub below who was sitting outside. Very loud and obnoxious :-( The waitress brought us some delicious bread and balsamic vinegar and oil and it went nicely with the bottle of white wine !I started with the sea food chowder, it was very good, must have been 10 mussels in it, small scallops, only saw one prawn, and some potatoes. It did need a bit of salt and pepper for my taste but I was very pleased with it. The Tuna my wife had fell short, the sauce on it was so strong and spicy that it over powered the nice taste of tuna. I cant remember the name of the pasta I had but it was in white sauce. I found the taste quite bland and again to the salt and pepper but it really needed more flavors and taste. All in all it was a good time, we would probably go again and give it one more try, just not on a Thursday when they apparently have a live band downstairs which attracted our loud unwanted male entertainer below.
