We had to wait for room to be ready and staff never came to tell us when room was ready. The room was ok. Definitely not what one would expect from Renaissance . Dingy carpet and bathtub fixtures showing much wear. Great location to St Pancras Rail Station. Mixed feeling about this hotel. Public areas are beautiful, room not so much. Expensive for the quality of room.
Stayed for 2 nights. not first time. Hotel location is fantastic. Nothing is better than this hotel if you are going to take Eurostar the next day. Literally the station is downstairs! Room is extremely expensive but interior is more of 3star local hotel style. Everything is old and dated. Shower area is small and you have to take shower in the bathtub which is potentially very dangerous. It is still very slippery even though we place the bath matt on.. whewww....
We stayed at the St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel on the night before our Eurostar journey to Paris. The hotel decor was incredible. We enjoyed drinks in the Gothic Bar before exploring the surrounding area, and ended an early night with a nightcap in the Hansom Cocktail Bar. The room was very comfortable and spacious, and we were able to check out the next morning at 5.30am so that we could catch our train.
Brilliant service, nice drinks, favourite English sparkling wine on selection, divine dessert for the young ones and attentive staff. Def coming back.
Stayed one night in order to catch the Eurostar easily the next morning at St. Pancras Station next door. The convenience to train and tube lines couldn 't be better. I needed some help with luggage, and staff went out of their way to make that work. My room was comfortable but unremarkable and had a close-up view of the train station roof. Breakfast was very good in the charmingly historic Booking Office, but I regretted that the hotel no longer has an upscale dining venue for dinner. The front desk no cash policy made it difficult to change larger bills in order to tip staff appropriately. The neighborhood is great, especially with the British Library just around the corner. All in all, this is a very convenient hotel for many purposes in an historic edifice of a building but expect to pay for the location and historic environment more than for first-class amenities.
