Waiter kept up with refilling our drinks since the food we picked was quite spicy. The food was amazing, there were korean tacos but they got eaten before i was able to even take a picture. The pork bao buns were very good, the pork was a bit fatty but it was cooked perfect so it melted in my mouth. The fried chicken always hits, their spicy is no joke spicy so if you can't handle heat definitely stick to the regular BBQ. Their drums are huge and the skin is super crunchy, meat falls off the bone. The only real inconvenience was that that food was too hot to eat when it came out, definitely not complaining about that! But, did burn my mouth trying to dig into my main course because it was too hot to eat. Their special fries have a great crunch and seasoned very well. The donut was amazing, it comes out fresh, hot, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside served with a side of sweetened condensed milk, to die for. They had basketball games playing, loved that. Couple of TVs, kept me entertained for sure. Not a loud environment, could enjoy my meal and have a conversation with my significant other without having to yell across the table. Not sure why this place doesn't have better reviews, love Bonchon!
Bonchon used to be one of my favorite spots, but it has lost some of its charm, and I wouldn't call it a favorite anymore. I used to enjoy visiting in person, but the service has become subpar, and the atmosphere has shifted from a sports bar with a modern design to something less appealing. The interior feels less clean, and I've even seen a mouse inside, which is quite off-putting. The food is still decent, but it's not what it used to be. Prices are average to slightly higher for Korean fried chicken, and while the side dishes are alright, the portions are small for the price. As for the chicken, I usually get the soy garlic/Bonchon chicken. It used to have a nice, even coating of sauce--not too much, but enough to cover most of the chicken. However, the last time I had it, the chicken was dry and lacked flavor, though it was still crunchy. Overall, you can find better options elsewhere or even at a different Bonchon location.
DO NOT GET THE CHICKEN KATSU!! Bonchon has good wings, but everything else is mid as ****... but I just ordered chicken katsu, and the skin was burnt, there was NO panko, and the meat was DRY as all hell. Not mention how bad the rice was, but that's a lesser insult... *********. I just can't believe that for a place that is so good at wings, they fucked up the katsu this badly. What a waste of my ******* money. **** you, Bonchon. **** you.
The Drumsticks were huge! Chickes didn't had enough sauces on it and little dry inside. Place was empty 7pm and te services were okay, not the best. Overall, it was okay but I wouldn't recommend nor come back.
Spicy ALERT: the spicy option for the fried chicken is REALLY SPICY so beware! Today we decided to have the soy garlic flavor and it was tasty as always! The chicken is breaded and double fried before being tossed in sauce for that extra perfect crunch! Also know that their drum sticks are HUGE (the size of my face) if you decide to try them out~ The tteokbokki was also pretty spicy but enjoyable The bulgogi udon had a strong shittake mushroom based broth flavor and had an overall very comforting taste 10/10 fried chicken craving satisfied
