The dining room is stylishly decorated and comfortable, without feeling too formal or old fashioned which is often the case in small provincial French towns. Several lunch options, all sound good value for money we had the 36 euro set menu (choice of 3 starters, 3 main dishes a tasting plate with 4 mini desserts, plus a glass of wine included). Quality of ingrédients and execution both excellent. Champagne wine served perfectly chilled. Highly recommended if you are passing through Cambrai.

When we arrived for lunch we were the only customers and this raised some questions for us. But we could park at the restaurant and we were comfortably seated in their tented outside. We made our selections and when the food arrived we were thrilled. My husband and I both chose a rich cream soup starter where fresh grated Parmesan cheese was added. It was served with a mushroom brioche. I've never had anything like it. I had lamb as a main course and it was the most tender lamb I have ever eaten. Tasty barely cooked vegetables came with the lamb. Our desserts were excellent. The chefs are young and they certainly know what they are doing. The four of us often eat at Michelin restaurants when we are in France, and this was one of the best. We were thrilled.
Classical interior in an historical mansion restored with taste. Innovative food but with a proper sense of balance and a respect of traditional receipts. Careful service. A joyful moment, unpretentious and elegant, with an excellent ratio quality price. A very good surprise in an area where good surprises are not do numerous anymore.
To be honest, the food is fine, though we found it a bit filling, but that's the caractere of this cuisine. We had the lunch menu, entree, plat, glass of great wine, a Languedoc Chardonnay with a nicely smelling aroma, and 4 sweets with your coffee. 31 euro pp. Very efficient service, and a very comfortable place to spend some time. Seems Napoleon was received here in 1801, still has that feel. Be careful when you need the mens room, or you will end up in the closet.
