Restaurante O Lagar - Câmara de Lobos

I was very well attended at the restaurant, the waiters were very good and so was the food. However when I left I noticed a macaw trapped with such a sad look that I hit really my stomach and I felt very bad and sad. This bird was not born to be trapped in a place like this. This is a huge offense and disrespect to nature. Please make sure that this bird can at least have a little dignity in the life it has left.

If you want a typical good quality restaurant this is it. We’re not talking about Michelin quality but the kind of place you should go with your family. The food is high quality, the meat just perfect, and the kids playground is just wonderfully designed. There is also the chance on top floor to watch your kids though a screen while they are playing there. I definitely recommend for family’s lunch dinner

Best Espetadas on the island. We ate on the 1st level, nothing to fancy, very simple decor, but the food was amazing. Both ordered the espetadas, with a side of fries and salad. Entree we had the typical madeira bread, bolo de cacao with garlic, and a bottle of wine. For dessert, we ordered the apple tarte with vanilla ice cream. Total came to 65€. Very friendly waitors. I recommend everyone to stop here for a meal. Wont be disappointed.

Fantastic Restaurant! Our taxi driver brought us here, away from the city set in the hills with all the fruits and vegetables being grown everywhere. He suggested the meat screwer which was served like a Brazilian restaurant and a fish dish that is only caught close to Madeira in 3,000 feet deep. Both were excellent, the restaurant is gorgeous with old traditional style house and wine making equipment. Staff was very helpful

Would give 4.5 stars if I could . We had fun ! Big restaurant with a lot of free parking . Away from touristy areas . The traditional Filet Espetada was cooked as requested, seasoned well and very tender . Sides are simple , tasty and fresh . Nice atmosphere with some live entertainers and a open woodfire kitchen .
