We sat on a small terrace, opposite the street from the restaurant, with views of the harbour and had a delicious meal close to the restaurant. a seared tuna with roasted vegetables and a kartoffel. so delicious. kathy had espada (scabbard fish) with bananas, roasted and a kartoffel. as delicious. €39 with a glass white and two fake beer (sem alcool).
We ordered a burger and pommes and it was the best burger and home made chips as-well the service was excellent and very friendly and the cleanliness was second to none we will visit again with the family in this juli and definitely visit. the place and restaurant again well made and thanks for a great memory lana and glyn
Just aside of hop on hop off bus stop in Câmara de Lobos center, you have 2 options, either a first floor balcony under big palm trees shadow or, a ground balcony 20 m down the street on the left, recently opened. Both, have a beautiful view over the bay and the cozy village cliff. But the best, is the menu with very interesting new approaches of cooking traditional dishes. I've tried the crispy scabbard fish with lime rice and it was marvelous. My wife's choice were sardines and fine as well. As it was rather hot, we went for beers but next time we will try the wine list. Kind and helpful Staff was an other point to stress but Chef Daniel Jesus is really an innovative artist on what Madeira's kitchen concerns.
The Red Bus will drop you off here. Top Tip - Book your place on the Green Tram to go to Cabo Girau on arrival, reserve a table with a view on the garden terrace for lunch, walk around the village including up to the church, take photos, have a harbour-side drink and then return to this shop / restaurant for a leisurely lunch before boarding the Tram. The menu is not extensive but the food is great...try the black ugly scabbard fish - its surprisingly tasty. You will also be given a madeira wine taster. Buy some madeira cake here too. Lovely.
