Krabba-Nescht - Calw

In our series We recently visited the Krabba Nescht in the province of Calwer. For not interested Swabians: no, this place has neither shrimps, salmon, nor crabs on offer also Otfried Preußler's youth novel was not here. We had a great experience here! We ate inside surrounded by the most charming farmer style ambiance and a huge tree growing in the middle of the interior of the building! It was very cool!! The service was very friendly and although busy, very effecient!...They know what they are doing here! Lastly, what we ordered was awesome! I had a big salad with turkey strips. My husband had the Schwäbisch mixed meat plate and we both shared the Black Forest icecream bowl! Everything was of big portions and delicious! We highly recommend this place and Will be back!

Very unique setting with the tree in the middle of the restaurant and tables and stairs scattered throughout. The food was very good and reasonable. I had a sample platter with pork, beef, and Maultaschen. It also came with spaetzle. For desert we had a...chocolate lava cake surrounded by pears and fresh whipped cream. Very good. The distillery is located behind the restaurant, but you can drink the spirits in the restaurant as well. I had a whiskey cream which was excellent. We will be back.

We finally tried this restaurant after living nearby for many years and wish I had gone sooner. Our server was really sweet and attentive. Prices are very reasonable and portions are large. Excellent food and a nice selection of drinks. Aside from the whiskey, they...also have homemade most which is similar to non carbonated hard cider. The atmosphere is very unique. You can even sit on an indoor balcony that overlooks the entire place. The entrance is actually a huge wine barrel.

My German friend took me here for dinner and the food and atmosphere were amazing. There were a dozen Lotus and other high end sportscars in the parking lot so we were a little scared how much it might cost but it was quite reasonable.. about Euros for a meal. The inside is built around a tree and reminded me of Disney... or perhaps Disney was inspired by something like this. Lots of antiques attached to the walls. Friendly staff who spoke English. I don't really know how to describe Swabian food, but it was good. We ordered some kind of Swabian meat platter and it was generous and tasty.
