Sammy's - Calumet-Norvelt

Thursday is large pizza for $9.99 day. My friend and I ordered a large pizza but added several toppings so it did not qualify for large pizza day. That was fine but the pizza was not. Toppings were delicious and fresh. The pizza was not cooked sufficiently. You could not pick up a piece without all the toppings, including cheese, sliding off the tip. The doughy crust was tasty but was not crisp or cooked all the way through. The cheese was not completely melted. The marinara sauce (not pizza sauce as there was no oregano in it) was stingy. Next time we will order heavy sauce and maybe ask that oregano be added. Server was excellent; very pleasant, attentive, knowledgeable and professional. The pizza did not come out in a hurry. There was no explanation for why it was not cooked longer.

We decided to stop for a late lunch . We order the large calzone , w/ 2 toppings and the 3 large garlic ? knots . The knots were good w/ real garlic and butter. The calzone came out after 15 mins it was cold and really no toppings we ordered. So we reordered another calzone, still not enough toppings we ordered. Service was great food was a okay… would we stop here again probably not. The calzone was not what the waitress said it would be !!

This is the only place we get pizza, and we've tried just about everywhere. It's the closest to pizza you can get up north and they will cook it to order. The people on the phone when ordering are always very nice. I've only dined in once, but it was a good experience. Service was friendly and timely. Highly recommend!

The veal marsala was like chewinga tire it was soo tough. My wife got the ravioli and they wqere as dey as dust. As bad as the food was, the service had that topped,it was the absolute worst. Just moved to the villages and will never go there again.

Everything was wonderful! Food, service, couldn't have been better. We had appetizers, 4 dinner choices and brought in a birthday cake they served. There were 45 attendees. Best authentic Italian in The Villages area.
