Capitol Bistro - Calumet-Norvelt

This is a great spot for a nice buffet breakfast. They have cook to order omelets, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, breakfast potatoes, French toast with butter, and syrup. Fresh cut fruit with cantaloupe, honeydew, banana, and oranges. There is a variety of flaky pastries with lemon and cherry filling. Danishes, scones, bagles, and toast. They have a nice selection of jellies, jams, butter, and cream cheese. Oatmeal with sugar, raisins, and chocolate chips. Yogurts

The breakfast buffet was Very disappointing. The food had been sitting a long time, selection was very small and there was no meat other than turkey sausage, No waffles or pancakes as advertised. Only bright spot was the custom made omelets. Lastly Not kid friendly.

Very disappointing. The service was good, however it was extremely expensive. For one slice of toast and half an avocado it was 15.00. I was outraged. It was 21.00 for a Caesar salad with one thin slice of grilled chicken. I don?t mind paying for good food, but I couldn?t get passed the 15 dollar avocado toast and the puny Caesar salad. If you are going to serve food, go all the way and do it right.

We waited at list 30min. for a table. We ordered 1 greek salad, 1 Caesar salad and 1 salmon dinner. . Greek salad was the worst ever. Cucumber cut into small cubes they include 1 grape tomato cut into four pieces and few crumbs of feta cheese (mostly was Cucumber salad). I didn't enjoyed at all. I only took one bite that's all. We asked for another Caesar salad instead but they refused us. Salmon dinner was thin slice of salmon with maybe two tablespoon of corn. Bill

The fancy placard out front says 10pm. Are you closed? Yeah, we closed. Your sign right here says you 're open until 10, and it 's 8pm. Don 't pay any attention to the times on there. Order online. If I wanted to pay $10 more just for not having to literally take an elevator down from my room, sure. Their hours are a lie, so don 't plan this unless you call.
