Green Tea Garden - California City

I have been eating here since I was young and I remembered when I went to college in SF, I dreamt about the Sunday buffet at the Tea. Unfortunately due to inflation, the owners have stopped that but it hasn't stopped me. I personally really enjoy the bbq pork, lemon chicken, sizzling rice soup (if dining in), the egg flower soup, and the CHICKEN LO MEIN. I cant tell you how many times I have eaten the chicken lo mein (a lot). When I came home on the holidays, getting that chicken lo mein was the main highlight/goal. They seem to be short staffed due to the pandemic so please be nice! They're trying their best and they aren't getting any younger! This family owned restaurant has been around for 30 years now and I thought it was finally time to write a review 10/10 would recommend (but I would 100/10 recommend the chicken lo mein)

Good quality, good portions and friendly service. Get everything you want when the server arrives with your food because they usually don't check back. We had trouble getting their attention for refills and again for the bill.

I highly recommend for great dining and great service. Lunch, approx 1:30PM Exterior and interior are clean and in good repair. Interior is an amazing collection of Chinese redwood and soapstone, some carved, and beautiful screens. The menu was a trifold paper. The waitress appeared instantly, greeted us, and took our drink order. The egg drop soup was scalding hot and flavorful. The Kung Pao Scallops were superior. The bay scallops were perfectly cooked, crisp edges and hot interior. The fruits and vegetables were fresh and hot. The rice in the covered red pot was hot and moist. The waitress was attentive, but not intrusive. Extra points: we were thirsting to death. She kept our water glasses full. I highly recommend.
